Can't start OpenOffice 2.3.0

Description

Open office doesn't sart. The droplet runs, and the icon is in the Dock. I can see soffice.bin, but no sign of the OO window.

Is there a known workaround? If so, please could you point me it out to me. All I've found is an old problem with fonts.
