Description
after MAC osX lion was upgraded to 10.7.4 i started to have this problem when running X11. I installed v2.7.2 (i'm not sure how i can confirm it)
the console shows some errors:

XQuartz.app two popups Restore Windows then The application X11 can not be opened. The second popup is modal and blocks the user from interacting with the first dialog.

Yeah, there's a bug in OS X's version of the code that handles the error you're seeing. I'm not sure *HOW* you're getting into that situation, but if you have information that would help me reproduce it, it would be helpful.
To fix your issue, just run XQuartz.app instead of X11.app, and it will run the XQuartz version of the script and fix your permissions for you.
